Robin Layne, a Juno-nominated percussionist, has dedicated the past fifteen years to immersing himself in rhythmic traditions from across the globe. His insatiable quest for rhythm and folkloric traditions has taken him on transformative journeys to Cuba, Guinea, Mali, Mexico, and beyond. These rich cultural experiences have profoundly influenced his compositions, which bear the imprint of his global explorations.

Recognizing the transformative potential of music, Robin has devoted his life to both performance and education. As the senior percussion instructor at the esteemed Sarah McLachlan School of Music and the Artistic Director of the World Rhythms for Youth Society, he shares his passion and knowledge with aspiring musicians and young minds.
