Brejera emerged in the spring of 2004 when Mario Silva from São Paulo, Brazil, and Trevor Murray from Nova Scotia, Canada, embarked on an exciting musical exploration of samba and choro. United by their love for these genres, the band embarked on a journey that would bring traditional Brazilian rhythms to life.
With a vibrant blend of traditional samba, baião, frevo, and choro, Brejera captivates audiences with its authentic sound. Mario Silva’s mastery of the 7-string guitar and captivating vocals, combined with Trevor Murray’s skillful cavaquinho playing and soulful vocals, form the foundation of the band’s dynamic sound. Adding to the ensemble’s allure are Bruno Matos on pandeiro and vocals, and Tobias Soley on saxophone and clarinet, contributing their talents to create a rich and spontaneous musical experience.
