Born in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico and raised in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, David Alcaraz came to Canada to live permanently with his wife and two young children in Surrey, B.C. Besides family, his other passions in life are soccer, music, and food. He had basic training in food science and Argentinean barbecues and worked in the food and beverage industry for over 5 years.
Back in Mexico, he specialized in BBQ and seafood dishes, but since he came to Canada, he longed for typical Mexican street food in his native country and started to develop his own recipes for those beloved dishes. He now has his own catering business and restaurant in Port Kells, Surrey, which offers his own flavours that take all the Mexicans living here back home, and introduces the Mexican cuisine to others.
