Originally from Colombia, she holds a business and marketing degree from the University of Kentucky and an MBA in International Business from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France. Previous to arrive in Canada, she lived in USA, Kentucky for 10 years and in Grenoble France for 3 year, she considered her-self a truly Latin-Country/French girl, Although she embraced, respect and love to be in truly multicultural environment like Vancouver, BC, she is very passionate in promoting her Latin American culture and building new business opportunities.
Born in Lima, Peru and raised in Quito in Ecuador, Pilar has a natural gift for bringing people together. She studied at the world renowned Steigenberger School in Munich, Germany, and worked at the Five Star, Hilton Colon, Guayaquil. She has been working with Latincouver since 2010.
In 2015, she helped organize the Pan American Games in Toronto. She is experienced at managing complex banquets and conferences for distinguished guests. She hosted many prestigious and high profile conferences for the Presidents and dignitaries of many South American countries. With her experience and national reputation for excellence, she operates, ‘Pili Hansen Events.’ Her personal touch and passion for creating the best events are always evident to clients and guests alike.
Natural from São Paulo, Brazil, Pedro studied Social Communications specialized in Radio and TV Broadcast productions at Methodist University of São Paulo, Brazil. His background includes executive production for corporative events, reality TV shows, broadcasted events, and in his last experience, 3 years as special projects planner for brands in the advertising agency Leo Burnett. Currently studies Advanced Arts and Entertainment Management at Capilano University.
Milena is originally from Colombia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a master’s degree in International Business. She is also a specialist in Neurolinguistics Programming and Emotional Intelligence.
Milena’s strong passion and persisting desire to grow in the marketing and business industry has led her to gain over 10 years of successful experience in international companies with a focus on planning, controlling and executing all marketing, negotiations and human resources functions.
In addition, Milena has an entrepreneurial spirit having been an entrepreneur for more than 6 years in Colombia after founding and managing her own marketing company. In 2011, she moved to Calgary, Alberta and continued her professional growth in the oil and gas industry. Milena packed her bags again and moved to Vancouver in 2016 to further her experience and studies in business, marketing, and human resources.

Born and raised in Brazil, Mariana holds a Degree in Law and is now pursuing her Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management at Capilano University. She successfully changed her career path from being a corporate tax lawyer to work with something that she is passionate about: people and culture. Vancouver producer and musician Malcolm Aiken is proud to join the team at Latincouver as this year’s Artist Programmer for the 2017 Carnaval del Sol. He’s performed with Chucho Valdez, Jimmy Bosch, Noel Gallagher among others, and will bring his experience as a international touring artist and world music manager to the live music stage.

Michael is founder and owner of Po’Boy Management, a specialized event management company assists not for profit arts groups and charities maximize their revenues from their special events. Michael brings over 30 years of sales, marketing, media and event experience to all the projects he is involved with.
Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Yolanda has a bachelor degree in industrial engineering and administration from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Mexico, and a master in management from Harvard University.
Early in her career she focused in sales management and International commerce in the food and beverage industry for the Latin American market.After that experience, she moved to the USA where she worked in the Hi-Tec industry in customer relations, product management, and general management including manufacturing and sales operations; she also worked in the electronic industry in business development.
The work experience that she has enjoyed the most is the process of building long-lasting customer relationships.
Paloma has a professional background in Journalism. She started working in Mexico in 1997 for a newspaper in her hometown. In 2004 she moved to London to study English. After she works for a Spanish newspaper in London, “Noticias Latin America”.
In 2008 she moves to Sydney Australia and become member to MAWAI a Mexican Australian Welfare Association Inc. Paloma was working to promote the Mexican culture in Australia and organize fundraising events to a Refuge for kids in needs in Tapachula Mexico. At the same time she works as a Freelance Journalist in “Noticias y Deportes” the Spanish newspaper for latinos and Spanish speakers in Sydney Australia.
In 2010 Paloma’s moved to Vancouver and working and volunteer with Latincouver, She had covered a variety of events, conducted many of interviews and involved in Public Relations Marketing. She was a Social Media Coordinator for LatinCouver leveraging many of the fantastic networking services available today such as a Twitter, Facebook and Instagram among others.
Linda is a Chartered Professional Accountant and will be graduating next May from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing. She has a wealth of experience that includes writing in numerous genres, working as an owner/manager at Top Producer Systems, creating a book review blog at Books-TreasureOrTrash.com, and finalizing the cookbook Veggie Outlaws.
Lisa Mighton has worked extensively in communications strategy, media relations, event coordination and broadcast journalism, including many years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She has worked for Latincouver handling media relations on past events.
Daniela Carmona is a TV host, journalist, and artist born in Manizales, Colombia, 1991. She currently works in Vancouver and across Canada as freelance journalist for Univision Canada and NTN24, Colombia. After obtaining her Journalism Bachelor’s Degree in Vancouver, Daniela began freelancing for major Latin American media outlets. Daniela strives to unite her Latino Canadian community through communication, acting, and music.
As an immigrant, she feels an immense desire and responsibility to be a voice for her people. Her work emphasizes the importance of ethnic diversity and professionalism in our society, igniting pure love for multiculturalism.
Born in the city of Cordoba, Argentina, Marcos Badra has been working with graphic design and photography for over 20 years. He has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, graduating from Blas Pascal University in 2005. He was awarded the honorific title of “Master Degree in Business Leadership” by The World Confederation of Business in Huston, Texas because of the results he achieved in the Educational Sciences Inter-American Foundation. He is currently working toward a Master’s in International Cooperation Projects at FUNIBER University which will be completed in 2017.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Scott is currently studying business and marketing at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He enjoys coordinating events as well as marketing through social media. Eventually, Scott hopes to run his own pop culture media site. Scott’s hobbies include playing soccer, reading, and listening to music.

Lya is originally from Toronto, but she was raised in Brazil. She has a Journalism Degree from PUC-SP (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo). She moved to Vancouver this year, where she intend to improve her professional career. Dennis Arellano was born in Peru and lived there until the age of 8, when he moved to Canada in 2001. Ever since a young age, he’s been curious to listen to people’s stories and concerns. His interest in people eventually led him to explore Journalism, where he hopes to one day create documentaries for a living.
Sara was born and raised in Mexico City. She has an Animation and Digital Design Degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. She is currently working as a volunteer in Latincouver, while she searches for school to do her master degree here in Vancouver. With more than seven years of experience in the hospitality industry Natalia was working for a group of restaurants called “Grupo Nazca” and was in charge of 3 restaurants.
